Background to 2023-2024 Engagement: Cambio Labs will partner with Fulton Houses as an independent contractor to deliver a social entrepreneurship incubator experience. Cambio Labs creates educational technology and curricular programs that turn students into social entrepreneurs, designers for impact, and community leaders. Our partners at the Fulton Houses and the West Side Community Fund are dedicated to empowering the community of entrepreneurs at NYCHA. Program Description: Startup NYCHA is an initiative to bring entrepreneurship programs and business development support to NYCHA residents. Entrepreneurs work to further develop, prototype, pitch, and launch their own cooperative, nonprofit, and community oriented business organizations. Participants will receive accounts for the Journey platform, an innovative learning platform developed by the Cambio Labs team. Description of the Role: As the StartUp NYCHA Mentorship and Engagement Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of emerging entrepreneurs in the NYCHA community. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for social entrepreneurship, event planning, and education technology (edtech). You will be instrumental in pairing participants with mentors, speakers, and experts, ensuring a rich and supportive learning environment. Your enthusiasm for facilitating final business pitch events and connecting entrepreneurs with rewards will be key to our program's success. Additionally, your expertise in hosting virtual meetings and supporting our entrepreneurship expert instructor will contribute significantly to the vibrant learning experience we aim to offer. Recruiting corporate sponsors and onboarding new members and supporters to our marketplace as coaches are also crucial aspects of this role. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and facilitate the pairing of program participants with mentors, industry experts, through our platform after they have "earned" prizes on the Journey Platform. Organize and execute event planning for final business pitches, creating an engaging and supportive platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas. Actively engage in the pairing of entrepreneurs with prizes and opportunities available on our marketplace. Schedule and engage guest speakers and judges for special curriculum segments and final pitch night. Support the entrepreneurship instructor with coordinating prizes. Recruit corporate sponsors to support the program financially and through mentorship opportunities. Onboard 10-15 new community members and supporters to our platform as coaches for our teams, enhancing the support network for our entrepreneurs. Ideal Candidate: Demonstrated enthusiasm for social entrepreneurship and community development. Experience in event planning, particularly in contexts related to business pitches or similar showcases. Proficiency in scheduling, organizing, and hosting virtual meetings and workshops. Strong interest and familiarity with edtech platforms and innovative educational approaches. Proven ability to recruit sponsors and partners, preferably within the corporate sector. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of individuals. This platform is designed to facilitate the growth of our users into capable and confident leaders by ensuring they have the technical tools and support needed to succeed. As a volunteer IT Specialist, you will play a critical role in enhancing the functionality and user experience of our platform, ensuring that all participants can effectively engage with our learning materials and community resources. Key Responsibilities: Onboard 10-15 new community members and supporters onto our platform for summer programming, providing them with the necessary training and resources to serve as coaches for our entrepreneurial teams. Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting common issues such as login and uploading problems, ensuring a smooth and efficient resolution process. Assist in the maintenance and updating of platform documentation to streamline user onboarding and troubleshooting procedures. Design a smooth onboarding process for new users to the platform. Set up a secure, centralized password management system for employees of Cambio Labs. Assist with AWS troubleshooting Ideal Candidate: Possesses a strong background in IT support or a related field, with a keen interest in educational technology. Exhibits excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of training and supporting a diverse group of users.
