The journey of grief can be a lonely road to walk alone. Volunteer a small amount of your time to make 6 and 12 month check-in calls to families who have recently had a loved one die. After a patient passes, Accent Care Hospice of Jackson offers support to their loved ones for at least 13 months following the loss. We do this in hopes to ease the pain loved ones experience as they walk along the path of grief. Bereavement Check-In Call Volunteers support the grief needs of low-risk family members, friends, and members of the community. Specific training will be provided. Qualifying applicants are U.S. Citizens that are 15 years of age or older and able to pass a health screen, background check, and drug test. Notice: Our volunteer opportunities require in-person completion of some hiring modules and training during the onboarding process. Use your compassion and talents to make a DIFFERENCE! Circle of Care Volunteers call home care patients or their caregivers each week to check on their needs prior to the weekend. Volunteers follow a phone script, assisting them to identify patient needs such as medication refills, supplies, or equipment that need to be addressed. As a Circle of Care Volunteer, you'll contribute to a collaborative, proactive approach in caring for terminally ill patients and their families.
