Dog Therapy

Dog Therapy is AdventHealth Littelton's pet visitation program. It is a socialization program that promotes patient health and welfare by using dog visits to comfort patients and minimize their separation anxiety and related stresses. To be accepted into this program, dogs must be a certified therapy dog through Alliance of Therapy dogs or Denver Pet Partners. Dogs must be at least 3 years of age, in good health, and friendly with young and old alike. The dog must be in a permanent home for at least 6 months prior to the program. The current minimum age requirement is 21 years old. Maximum age for the dog is 10. If your dog is not currently certified but you are interested in the process, you can visit www.therapydogs.com

Are you an early riser looking for a way to make a positive impact? Role Overview: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated volunteers to join our team as Surgery Waiting Desk Volunteers. This role is crucial in providing a welcoming and supportive environment for patients and their families during the early morning hours. The early shift is VERY busy. Key Responsibilities: Obtain and review the daily surgery schedule. Welcome patients arriving for surgery and assist with check-in procedures. Provide information about general hospital services related to surgery procedures and reassure patients that hospital staff will provide complete information as it becomes available. Volunteers should never give medical information or refer to personal medical history. Answer incoming telephone inquiries. Direct visitors to appropriate areas of the hospital and escort them if the schedule allows. Qualifications: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Dependable and punctual, especially for early morning shifts. Comfortable working in a hospital environment. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Music for Healing

I loved volunteering in the Gift shop for 2 years. There was nothing I did not like doing in the shop. I owned my gift shop.
