SERVING THOSE WHO SERVED US: "WE HONOR VETERANS" Volunteer Opportunity with In My Home Hospice Care. Our Hospice is a partner in the We Honor Veterans program with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the United States Department of Veteran Affairs. We are also a proud partner with the Vietnam War Commemoration. The goals of the program are to demonstrate respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgement to comfort patients with a history of military service. Are you a military veteran who would like to provide companionship and support to military veterans on our hospice service? Or, perhaps you have time to be involved in special events honoring Veterans: In My Home Hospice Care pairs volunteers who are Veterans with Veteran Hospice patients. These volunteers have the unique ability to relate and connect with each patient, creating an environment open to healing and life review. In My Home Hospice Care also holds special Pinning Ceremonies, presenting military pins, service certificates and flags to recognize and thank Veterans for their service. What can Veteran volunteers do? Assist Veteran patients in reminiscing and telling life stories Educate and assist patients in receiving Veteran benefits Take part in pinning ceremonies and recognition events for Veterans Assist in replacing lost medals All of our patient support volunteers require a background clearance, CPR Training, and TB test. (All is at no cost to you and will be a part of the enrollment/orientation process). Patient visits can occur in an array of settings, including a patient's private home, group home, or care facility.

Are you seeking a pawsitively rewarding experience for you and your therapy animal... In My Home Hospice Care of Tempe is looking for Pet Therapy Volunteers to join our growing volunteer program. Pet Therapy Volunteers visit with our patients in private homes, group homes, and long-term care facilities across the valley. Pet Therapy handlers require a certification through Pet Partners, American Kennel Club, Alliance of Therapy Dogs, or similar certifying agencies. Pet Teams are required to complete our volunteer orientation and training prior to placement. Volunteers must be at least18 years of age, complete a background clearance, have a current CPR certification and a negative TB screening. (Such will be at no cost to you and is a part of your application/orientation process). Pet Therapy Volunteers often visit patients weekly, though schedules are based on your availability.

In My Home Hospice Care is seeking compassionate volunteers to share time with our hospice patients nearing their end of life. Volunteer opportunities include direct care with patients such as visiting, walking, reading, doing arts and crafts and simply spending quality time. Respite and support for family members allow the family caregivers the opportunity to take care of necessary errands, exercise or simply have time alone. Share your special skills and talents as a musically-inclined volunteer, as a certified pet therapy team, help with light yard work, work on arts and crafts, scrapbooking, or being a Veteran-to-Veteran volunteer. Volunteers can visit patients who are in their private homes, group homes or who reside in assisted-living care facilities throughout the Valley. We will work with your schedule. The volunteer process consists of an application/orientation, background check, TB test, and training. Such is at no cost to you and in a part of the application/orientation process.

In My Home Hospice Care in Tempe, Arizona is seeking Teen volunteers who are between the ages of 14 to 17 years old to be after-school/summer clerical volunteers for our Hospice company. Teen volunteers need to be in good academic standing and possess maturity and responsibility in their behaviors. Teen volunteers who are between the ages of 14 to 17 years old have the opportunity to assist with clerical functions that help support our hospice patients.
