We believe in a world where everyone has a decent place to live. With the help of volunteers like you, we build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Our homes are built almost entirely by volunteers, both skilled and unskilled. Whether you are a contractor or have never picked up a hammer, we need your help! All the tools and safety gear you need for the day is provided and no previous experience is necessary. Orientations and safety trainings take place at the start of each day. Shift: Fridays: 8:30am-3:00pm, Saturdays: 8:30am-1:00pm Minimum age: All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to volunteer on the construction site. Any volunteers under the age of 18 need to have a waiver signed by their parent/guardian and are not permitted to use power tools. Clothing: Volunteers must wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes. Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing that they don't mind getting dirty. Dress appropriately for the weather and keep in mind that neither indoor nor outdoor work sites have heat or air conditioning. Lunch is not provided: please bring a packed lunch, water, and any snacks you may want for the day. There are plenty of restaurants and fast food establishment near by if you prefer to eat your lunch off site. We break every day at noon for about 45 minutes. Sign up at ehfh.galaxydigital.com. Build sites can accommodate groups of up to 12 volunteers upon request. Email volunteer@ehfh.org to learn more about GroupBuild opportunities.

A program of Habitat for Humanity International, Women Build enables women to help eliminate poverty housing by building homes and communities. Through Women Build, women volunteers and homeowners gain the confidence and skills to lay bricks, pound nails, raise walls and create hope. Evergreen Habitat built its first Women Build home in 2012 and completed their second home in the summer of 2017. Women Build is a great way for women to have fun, help a family, and make a difference in a hands-on way. You’ll get to meet the family you are helping face-to-face. You can spend time with friends and colleagues, and make new friends while you work on the house. Plus you’ll learn construction skills you can use in your own home. Women Build also raises funds to build homes for hard-working families in need by hosting fundraisers, such as the Women Build Holiday Luncheon or the Women Build Bingo Night. The Women Build Committee consists of community-minded women who want to make a difference here in Vancouver-construction skills are not necessary! The committee meets monthly on every third Wednesday. Guests and/or new members are always welcome!

The purpose of the development committee is to raise public awareness about Evergreen Habitat and work on donor retention and cultivation. This is a trained sub-committee of the Board of Directors who serve as a sounding board for the Development Director and ensures that development activities the affiliate enacts are strategic and thorough. The group also supports event planning and coordination. This is a great entry-way into our organization if you would like to consider leadership on our Board of Directors. This group takes part in public speaking opportunities and creates the fund development plan, strategizing for the future of our organization.
