About us The National STEM Society is a 501c3 Non-Profit organization that supports and promotes STEM education and research focused on advocacy for women, children, and youth who have an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics careers exploration, internships, coaching, and mentoring. We believe that every student in K-College grades should have the opportunity to learn about STEM careers from professionals driven to share their specific work experience and expertise. Our company recruits highly skilled Administrative Leaders to manage startup activities in various locations in Georgia, Florida, New York, Texas, California, etc. by performing administrative and coordination duties to launch a chapter of volunteers to plan, host, fundraise, and structure STEM educational, and research activities. Administrative Support responsibilities include providing exceptional client service, processing invoices, knowledge of QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, PowerPoint, etc.), and maintaining electronic files. As an Administrative Assistant, you must be highly organized and have strong communication and time management skills. Since you will work closely with our President and others, we’re looking for a detail-oriented, self-starter who can handle many tasks. Must pass a criminal background check, complete volunteer forms, mandatory code of conduct, and sign a non-disclosure agreement. All confirmed volunteers during the selection process are required to complete a child sexual abuse awareness training, reference checks (for specific volunteer roles), and background check for onsite, in-person events and programs volunteer opportunities. Submitting a volunteer application or inquiry does not guarantee placement as a volunteer. Candidates will be accepted on the event or program needs matched with the candidates’ qualifications to meet those requirements as determined during the selection process. Incomplete volunteer applications will not be considered for review. If a suitable volunteer opportunity is available, you will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator. A volunteer interview/orientation, background check, and reference check (references for specific volunteer roles) will be required before any candidate can begin an assignment. All applications will be kept on file for one year. All volunteers, staff members, and partners must complete a comprehensive background check. Through our partnership with NCSI, the National Center for Safety Initiatives will perform each comprehensive background check (a nationwide county criminal search, federal, and two sex offenders registry searches) for $35. We ask all volunteers, staff members, and partners to contribute a $20 donation toward their background check at https://nationalstemsociety.org/how-do-i-donate/ on the website, enter a custom amount, and click donate. The National STEM Society will cover the remaining cost of $15.

SPARK STEM TESTING LAB for Power Apps Kids programming initiative. When: Saturdays, Jan 11th until Feb 15th Where: Online in Microsoft 365 & Microsoft Teams What: Power Apps Kids: Fun, Learn, & Play Team building in Microsoft Power Apps & Storytelling Solutions as an educational experience from student to student. A train the trainer discovery adventure in our Digital Air Space building workable solutions to real problems. All student volunteers will earn a certificate and volunteer hours. Who: For ages 10 to 17 How: Microsoft 365 Power Apps If you are not a middle school or high school student please do not submit a volunteer application for this opportunity. This initiative is for students in middle and high school grades only. We are launching a new program: "Power Apps Kids" for students in grades 6th -10th ready to explore the POWER of Microsoft 365 with us while supporting new tools for use by the SPARK STEM Crew this school year. These students will work together to build a business app to check in new student members and provide encouragement along the building journey of every release cycle. Are you a student ready to learn more about apps, gaming, and more development? Parents, is your student interested in having fun leading and learning a new STEM exercise toward Girls or Boy Scouts patches, merit badges, or volunteer hours for school? Join us today for the next volunteer session this month hosted on Saturdays via Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams until National Engineering Week in February. Your student volunteer will learn, build, and produce a tool for others to use today for tomorrow's learning cycles on the SPARK STEM eCampus. Thank you for your volunteer interest.
