If so, consider being a Grant Writer for the Refuge Food Pantry. We are constantly in the fight to eliminate hunger and help our low income communities by providing food. Our numbers keep increasing as we are under uncertain times. Therefore, We are looking for a talented professional to fill the position of Grant Writer for developing and implementing proposals that support the short- and long-term fundraising goals of our food pantry. This role includes, but is not limited to, writing inquiries, proposals, and reports, researching prospective funders, collecting, managing, and synthesizing grant-related information. REQUIREMENTS - Minimum one year experience as grant writer. - Independent, responsible for making the connection and building relationships with other organizations, business and independent individuals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Assist with research and documentation relating to grants and foundations. Research prospective grant-makers, including charitable giving history, and grant guidelines. Develops proposal and report language as assigned, including research, data collection, writing, budget, and supporting materials. Writes grant proposals to solicit, retain, and maximize financial support according to grant makers- guidelines and deadlines. Maintains and updates the grant proposal and report template. If so, consider being a Social Media Specialist/Intern for the Refuge Food Pantry. We are constantly in the fight to eliminate hunger and help our low income communities by providing food. Therefore, We are looking for a talented professional to fill the position of Social Media Specialist/Intern for developing and implementing content creation, social media management and advocacy for our social media platforms. This role includes, but is not limited to, taking pictures, posting events and announcements. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES Create and execute social media strategies to advocate for hunger. Create content to increase engagement. Build and support cohesive internal and external communications plan and strategy to support and grow the mission of the food pantry and our community partners. Create and develop positive content, with a consistent style, quality, tone and guidelines. Maintains and updates the social media platforms on a weekly basis. Develop positive, attractive content for fundraising and food justice advocacy. Prepare reports and social media updates and news covered to the Food pantry coordinator and directors. JOB DESCRIPTION Volunteer Pick up Driver Department: Food Pantry Location: 1187 Meadow Lane Concord, CA 94520 START YOUR APPLICATION Are you a skilled person who believes in lending your skills to help eliminate hunger during these unprecedented times? If so, consider being a Volunteer pick up driver for the Refuge Food Pantry. We are constantly in the fight to eliminate hunger and help our low income communities by providing food. Our numbers keep increasing as we are under uncertain times. Volunteers are needed to receive, weigh, sort and stock items as they are being delivered. However, we are in urgent need of volunteers who can pick up local donations from new donors, and/or cover shifts of our current drivers. You can volunteer for a regular weekly , or biweekly food run, let us know what works best for you. Giving a couple of hours a week will make a huge difference in our community. This position requires using your own vehicle. You will drive to the donor’s location to pick up the food. Donors are local (Concord, Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek). The pickups need to be done early mornings and/or afternoons and usually consists of carrying boxes of food and other non-perishable items. Be able to lift more than 20 pounds. Ideal candidates must be responsible and punctual to the schedule pick-ups.
