Virtual Opportunity
Join the SOUL team! :) Looking for someone who loves creating images for use on social media, and wants to do so to support a small, tight-knit faith-based organization. Able to create graphics (images and/or text) that are consistent with our brand - positive messages, pretty, modern, and using our fonts and colors... all while avoiding copyright infringement. You will receive a content calendar with general guidelines for what is needed. You will work closely with the volunteer social media director to help meet her posting goals.

Minimum Criteria At least age 18 if interacting with clients or being hired by SOUL in any capacity. Female if interacting with clients one on one (in order to provide a safe haven for expectant mothers and better facilitate comfortable communication of needs) Reside in (or be willing to travel to) the Charleston, SC area. Have regular access to transportation, phone, computer, and printer as needed. SOUL does not provide these things. Subject to background check and pending Executive Director and/or Board approval. Have never been arrested, charged, or convicted of any crime deeming them as a sexual offender. If the applicant has been convicted of a felony, they may be considered only after a period of seven years with demonstrated good behavior and an appropriate and corrective attitude regarding past behaviors, pending Board approval. Not use illicit drugs or currently in treatment for substance abuse. Role and Commitment Mentors make a commitment to the client for the entirety of the pregnancy into a minimum of three months postpartum. Meet and communicate with client regularly to form a supportive relationship. Able to listen well, ask good questions, and provide client with wisdom, while still encouraging her to make decisions for herself. Pray for client and offer her Jesus-centered spiritual support in times of crisis. Work alongside her to find appropriate community resources, job, healthcare, and/or housing as needed. Maintain boundaries as set by the nonprofit, including confidentiality, professional relationship, no personal favors/gifts, respect for varying denominations, etc. Keep accurate and up to date case notes. Mentors are highly encouraged to participate in SOUL Sisters faith-based peer support group meetings. Note: At the discretion of SOUL Directors, some mentors may be approved only for Group and/or Outreach events, rather than one-on-one.
