Job Summary: H.Y.P.E. to Empower, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dedicated Volunteer Nonprofit Budget Analyst to assist in developing, implementing, and managing complex budgets for our multifaceted nonprofit organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of advanced Excel functionalities and nonprofit financial management and possess excellent analytical skills. This volunteer position is critical to supporting our organization's financial health and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities: Budget Development and Management: Collaborate with department heads to prepare annual budgets that align with the organization's goals and objectives. Develop, implement, and manage complex budgets for various programs, grants, and projects. Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and prepare regular financial reports for management and board review. Financial Analysis and Reporting: Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, forecast future financial performance, and provide insights for decision-making. Prepare and present comprehensive budget reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure accurate and timely reporting to funding agencies, donors, and other stakeholders. Grant Management: Develop and manage budgets for grant proposals and funded projects, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines. Track grant expenditures and ensure funds are used in accordance with grant agreements. Internal Controls and Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard the organization’s financial resources. Support annual audits and other external reviews, providing necessary documentation and explanations. Strategic Planning and Support: Provide financial analysis and support for strategic planning initiatives, including new program development and organizational growth. Assist in the development of long-term financial plans and sustainability strategies. Training and Capacity Building: Conduct training sessions for staff on budget management, financial reporting, and compliance requirements. Provide technical assistance and financial support to program managers and other staff. Qualifications: Preferred Education Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus but not required. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and financial management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.(If not three years, a proven track record) Experience managing complex, multi-faceted budgets and multiple funding sources. Skills and Abilities: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards and regulations. Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial staff. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Work Environment: Location: This position is performed remotely, Schedule: Flexible volunteer hours, with an expected commitment of weekly check-in twice a week at a minimum

Key Responsibilities: Fundraising Strategy: Assist in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to meet organizational goals. Identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities, particularly through virtual channels.
