Grassroots nonprofit marketing campaigns are an opportunity for our volunteers to help raise awareness of the mission of Removing The Stigma throughout the community, in various ways. Grassroots nonprofit marketing is about advocacy and financial support that makes it possible to work toward our mission to remove the stigma. Our grassroots volunteers will have the opportunity to communicate, collaborate, and connect with individuals, organizations, and businesses and share the mission and vision of Removing The Stigma. We have an upcoming one-day free in-person Retreat on August 9, 2022, this retreat will help you to understand the vision, mission, and values of Removing The Stigma and give you an insight into who we are. COMMUNITY OUTREACH INTERN or VOLUNTEER

Flexible Schedule | Virtual Opportunity

This is currently a virtual position, but over time may become both virtually and in-person. Community Outreach volunteers can serve using skills that best fit their knowledge and skills, or they can challenge themselves to learn more as they move throughout the community. The volunteer will work closely with the Community Outreach Committee on various fundraising projects, community outreach projects, and annual events. Currently, we are in the process of planning our May 2022 Mental Health Awareness Month event and establishing our 2022 calendar.

OFFICE/ ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

We need individuals who are ready to volunteer and see new things happen in this grassroots organization. Office Assistant volunteers will be responsible for the office structure. The position includes (but is not limited to) inventory of office supplies, placing orders, answering the phone, keeping track of upcoming appointments, and copying, corresponding letters, memos, and emails. The key roles of this position are communication, accuracy, and some familiarity with Microsoft Word. This is also a role with a great opportunity to learn and group in your administrative skills. We adhere to all CDC guidelines regarding COVID. Mask wearing is not optional when working on-site.

Removing The Stigma, Executive Board of Directors a 501(c3) nonprofit organization is seeking individuals interested in serving as Board Members. We are currently seeking to fill positions on our Executive Board, Advisory Board, and our Committee Board. The organization operates in the Cleveland area and is currently meeting and interviewing virtually. Attendance at bi-weekly or monthly board meetings is required. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for removing the shame and discrimination of mental illness and suicide in the community, and to bring hope and healing to those who have lost loved ones who have died by suicide or struggled with suicide themselves. To educate, empower, cultivate hope, and promote mental and emotional wellness, while removing the stigma associated with mental illness and suicide.

Description

Removing The Stigma (RTS) is a grassroots non-profit organization founded by Denise Holcomb in 2015. RTS focuses on mental illness and suicide prevention awareness. The mission of RTS is to educate and bring awareness to the African American community about mental illness and introduce the concepts and foundations of suicide prevention and awareness. We collaborate with other similar organizations to offer:

Support Groups for caregivers who care for individuals with mental illness
Training on mental and emotional health and suicide prevention
Faith-based Mental and Emotional Wellness Groups for Men and Women
We developed a web-based platform on the RTS website which mainly houses resources for the community.
