Moseka Action Project is looking for board members to serve on its Board of Directors. This is an opportunity for anyone passionate about advancing God's kingdom, strengthening leadership and governance in the nonprofit sector, and particularly the individual who wants to make a profound difference in the lives of at risk women and children in need, and survivors of sexual violence. Moseka Action Project board members believe that in order to be successful, every organization needs a heartily committed board to fully realize its potential for good. As board members, your responsibility includes Duty of Care, in which you have a legal responsibility to participate actively in making decisions on behalf of the organization during our quarterly meeting; Duty of Loyalty, in which board members must put the interests of the organization before their own interests when acting on behalf of the organization; and Duty of Obedience, in which board members bear the legal responsibility of ensuring that the organization complies with the applicable federal, state, and local laws and adheres to its mission. Additionally, the Moseka board is an active working board, and members are expected to * Know the organization’s mission, policies, programs, and needs. * Faithfully read and understand the organization’s financial statements. * Serve as advocates, ambassadors, and active fundraisers for Moseka. * Responsibly represent Moseka to the public and their respective communities. * Leverage professional and personal relationships, connections, networks, and resources to help the Development Committee and staff identify and solicit potential funders. * Give a meaningful personal financial donation annually. * Read board materials in advance of board meetings, attend meetings, and conscientiously participate in board meetings, held every quarter. Prior board membership is preferred, but not required, and prior fundraising experience is preferred, but not required. Membership on Moseka Action Project's Board of Directors is an invitation to work with like-minded leaders and professionals to make a profound impact on the lives of thousands of women and children in need through the power of education. This is an opportunity to work for social justice and serve people around the world from your own home. Moseka Action Project is building a volunteer team of Social Media Interns! This group will collaborate on building engagement, fostering supporters and strengthening the organization's brand as an impactful mission-driven non-profit dedicated to the education, empowerment and development of women and children in the Congo. Each intern will create 1-3 posts a month according to Moseka's social media strategy, to be shared across social media platforms. Interns will inform and develop communication strategies to raise engagement, solidify our brand and further the mission of empowerment for women and children in the DRC. the As a member of the Moseka team, each intern will participate in team meetings and fundraising campaigns as needed to help Moseka meet it's goals and mission. Leverage skills in design and marketing for a good cause. Learn about global human rights issues including education, poverty and gender-based violence for the purpose of educating and engaging community response. Experience advocacy first hand. Contribute directly and indirectly to the education, empowerment and development of vulnerable people. Develop an engaged network of compassionate individuals making a positive difference in the global community.
