Are you a fantastic organiser who loves planning and developing young people’s skills. Then this might be the volunteering role for you. Brighton Hill Scouts group is looking for a Beaver leader to join the team and create and deliver exciting activities for their 6-8 year olds. Our Beavers get up to lots of different activities, archery, hiking, camping, arts & crafts, helping the community and lots more. They meet weekly on Wednesdays (term time only) from 6.15pm - 7.15pm. You don’t need to have previous experience just the ability to get stuck in, there is lots of support and training available.

Brighton Hill Scout Group are looking for a volunteer to manage our existing team of volunteers! Brighton Hill Scouts is a well established group who have a Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer sections and approximately 40 + volunteers. This role will involve keeping in touch with the volunteers, reviewing their roles and training needs. In addition to helping recruit new volunteers to the group. As part of a volunteering team you will: Have fun and feel rewarded Learn new skills Make new friends Add to your CV and have the opportunity to gain qualifications Make a difference and give something back to your community Skills This role would suit someone who has experience as a Line Manager or has worked in HR or Recruitment but this is not necessary. You will be a good communicator, organised and someone who is wanting to support the young people in the community but in a role that can be carried out in your own time rather than on a week to week basis. You don’t need to have been in Scouts before, either - it’s fine if you’re completely new.

Brighton Hill Scouts is a well established group who has Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer sections and approximately 40 + volunteers. This role will involve managing the building and its facilities keeping the site safe and well maintained. Tasks will include coordinating maintenance and meeting tradespeople onsite when needed. As part of a volunteering team you will: Have fun and feel rewarded Learn new skills Make new friends Add to your CV and have the opportunity to gain qualifications Make a difference and give something back to your community Skills This role would suit someone who has time to volunteer during the working day and who may have had similar experience in a previous job. You will have good organisational skills and be flexible about when you can volunteer. You don’t need to have been in Scouts before, either - it’s fine if you’re completely new.

Are you looking for a fun and active volunteering role, with the opportunity to try new activities outdoors & indoors whilst supporting the young people in your community? This could be for you! We are looking for adult volunteers to help run several of the sections at 9th Southampton Scout group. They include volunteering with; Squirrels our 4 - 6 year olds on Thursdays from 5:00 - 6:00pm Beavers our 6 - 8 year olds on Mondays from 6.00 - 7.30pm Cubs our 8 - 10.5 year olds on Wednesdays from 6.30 - 8.15pm Scouts or 10.5 - 14 year olds on Tuesdays 7:00 - 9:00pm Our regular sessions take place during term time. Activities vary from den building, arts & crafts, cooking, hiking, camping, archery and various games. Some activities carried out will be working towards earning badges whilst other tasks will be just for fun. There will be some essential training to undertake that is mainly online learning in addition to carrying out a DBS check. On going training will also be provided and the opportunity to earn qualifications in some skilled activities if of interest. If you would like to support young people in your community to learn skills for life and would like to know more please get in touch and let us know which age section you're interested in. Whatever time you can offer we can be flexible in our approach to volunteering. We are looking for a team of adult volunteers to engage and inspire our young people. You will be a confident communicator who is able to work as part of a team. No previous scouting experience is needed. Training and support will be given.
