We here at Bridge Hospice are keeping our commitment to our community by servicing our hospice patients and their families/ caregivers. If you have sewing skills would you consider sewing and making Memory Bears for beareved families? You can use your own pattern or a pattern can be provided for you. Memory bears are made out of clothing or other cloth items that belonged to a patient on our hospice services. Once the bears are made by the volunteer, the Volunteer Coodinator will pick up Bear from Volunteer and deliver it to beareved family. Give a piece of your Heart and become a Volunteer. For a small amount of time you can make a BIG Difference in Someone's Life! Spending time with someone who is nearing the end of life can offer great gifts to your spirit. Journeying with a patient and their family during this time is a rich experience. Can you: Sit and offer a non-anxious presence. Read aloud to an eager ear. Share the gift of Song or Poetry to a lonely heart. Sit and listen to their stories from younger years. Do light housekeeping (not reqiired, up to your discretion) Caregiver relief (so the caregiver can have a break) These and so many other gifts that you have can be shared at this important time in a person's life. If you have a compassionate heart, maybe you are called to this work. We will train you and prepare you for your work as a hospice volunteer. We hope to hear from you soon.
