Hope’s Closet Price Tag Volunteer Mission: New Life Center’s mission is to help eliminate domestic and sexual violence through support services, education, and expertise. Purpose: Hope’s Closet Price Tag Volunteers plays vital role in supplying Hope’s Closet with price tags used on a daily basis in our thrift shop. You'll individually cut out each price tag used in Hope’s Closet large clothing and linens sections. The position can be completed remotely; no need to join us in person to volunteer in this capacity. Hope’s Closet is a thrift store owned and operated by New Life Center. It serves two important purposes crucial to our work with domestic violence survivors. First, every child and adult seeking refuge at New Life Center’s emergency shelter has access to items in the store completely free of charge. Second, all proceeds from Hope’s Closet are used to support New Life Center’s shelter operations. Potential Duties: Print price tags on specific colors of cardstock paper utilizing the correct price tag template Tag colors are BRIGHT GREEN, YELLOW, BRIGHT ORANGE Cut out each price tag individually in a professional and consistent format Organize tags by color and store in ziploc bags If completing remotely, either deliver price tags during Hope’s Closet business hours, or mail in Log volunteer hours on a note and include with price tags before mailing in/dropping off Carry out all duties with safety and efficiency Communicate concerns to Store Manager Adhere to all policies regarding participant/program confidentiality Perform other duties as assigned and needed Qualifications: Ability to print price tags on cardstock Access to supplies (scissors, printer, cardstock, etc.) Regular and consistent involvement Strong attention to detail as this requires precision Ability to drop off price tags at Hope’s Closet, or mail them to us Requirements: Hope's Closet Volunteer Application Hope's Closet Handbook and Policy Acknowledgement Forms Commitment: Preferred commitment detailed below: At least 50 sheets of tags per month Can be done remotely If unable to meet the minimum commitment requirements, please provide context to the Community Engagement Manager Hope’s Closet address: 415 N Litchfield Road Goodyear, AZ 85338 Drop off hours: Tuesday-Saturday between 10:00 AM- 5:00 PM Donations accepted Tuesday-Saturday between10:00 AM- 3:00 PM

Purpose: The Meal Donation Volunteer helps NLC and the residents by providing purchased meals for either lunch or dinner. Meal donations help provide unique meals that save agency funds and help participants feel connected and cared for. This service assists in upholding NLC’s mission, vision, and core values of compassion, resilience, equity, and community. Steps to complete when donating a shelter meal: Connect with Volunteer Services Manager to confirm dates and times for meal donation Purchase a meal from a pre-approved list or submit option for approval Coordinate the drop-off of the meal at Shelter Send receipt of purchase to Volunteer Services Manager to track in-kind contribution Communicate with Volunteer Services Manager on any questions or schedule changes Requirements: An understanding of the need to keep aligned with health department standards Effective communication skills Commitment, understanding the importance of providing a reliable services Understanding that this role coordinates and drops off the meal but does not serve the meal at shelter

Purpose: The Hope’s Closet Volunteer Store Attendant plays a vital role in the daily operations of our thrift store. This role helps with receiving and sorting donations, pricing and organizing sale items, and welcoming and interacting with customers. The position is an in-person role and is an opportunity to be a team player and uphold NLC’s mission, vision, and core values of compassion, resilience, equity, and community. Hope’s Closet 415 N Litchfield Road Goodyear, AZ 85338 Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 AM- 5:00 PM Donations accepted 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM Hope’s Closet is a thrift store owned and operated by New Life Center. It serves two important purposes crucial to our work with domestic violence survivors. Potential Duties: Receive, sort, and price donations prior to them transitioning to the sales floor Provide direct customer assistance to shoppers in the store Support in the customer checkout area, providing cashier assistance and other customer needs Assist customers to find specific items of interest on the sales floor. Demonstrate hospitality to donors, customers, staff, and other volunteers Carries out all duties with safety and efficiency Partake in the maintaining of a clean facility Communicate concerns to Store Manager Adhere to all policies regarding participant/program confidentiality Actively contribute to New Life Center’s trauma informed philosophy Ability to lift 30 to 60 lbs regularly (a plus, but not a must Perform other duties as assigned and needed Qualifications: Flexibility and hospitality Initiative and ability to own tasks and projects Regular and consistent attendance Strong attention to detail and ability to follow-through on tasks Please note that the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
