Every SCORE chapter depends on the talent and time of volunteers to help entrepreneurs achieve their dreams of small business ownership. We’re currently looking for volunteers to work on specific projects. These volunteers are staffed based on their unique skills and are welcome to assist with leadership and chapter support tasks-they really are the backbone of the organization. For example, you might be able to sharpen your email marketing, networking and social media skills while helping your local business community. If you are interested in aiding a local chapter with data and analytics, pulling reports, helping with local events, or serving in other capacities that will make your local chapter more effective, let us know. Bring your specialized, deep experience to help small business entrepreneurs achieve success. Today’s small business owners must master many functions to drive greater success and accelerate growth - from building world-class websites to leveraging the power of social media and implementing cloud computing. As part of SCORE’s free mentoring services, you can work directly with an experienced SCORE mentor and their entrepreneur clients to support very specialized areas of small business. As a Subject Matter Expert Mentors (SME), you would be an adjunct expert called in to provide specialized support and advice to assist a SCORE mentor when their client needs a deeper dive on a specific topic. Areas where specialized SME services are needed include (but are not limited to): finance, accounting, human resources management, website design, development, and webmaster skills; social media and digital marketing skills; taxation and specialized finance skills; IT infrastructure and cloud computing understanding and advice.
