About Carboncopies At the Carboncopies Foundation, we believe that the possibilities and opportunities enabled by Whole Brain Emulation (WBE) represent the most promising technological path to overcoming our fundamental limitations as a species. To achieve WBE, essential advances are needed in neurobiology, neurophysiology, brain imaging, micro- and nanoscale technologies, computational neuroscience, computing hardware, and even the philosophy of mind. We provide peer networks and project opportunities to scientists working on challenges critical to whole brain emulation and recognize that there is a long road ahead of us. What are the responsibilities of this role? - Writing and researching articles to educate the general public - Generating & designing social media content (Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, podcast episodes) based on our audience - Gathering and keeping track of the contact information of people relevant to the organization Components of creating social media content for CCF: 1. brainstorming ideas to increase engagement 2. posting that echos newsletter content & promote podcast episodes, YouTube videos, blog articles, external events/news of interesting research, anything of note going on 4. Adding media regularly on Twitter/Facebook 5. investigating popular content relevant to our niche & synthesize ideas in turn create audio/videos for YouTube and the podcast 6.interacting with the target audience on social media Qualifications The following qualifications and/or experience aren’t required but would be helpful for you in taking on this role: Fascination and active interest in neuroscience, biotechnology, artificial intelligence or other relevant emerging fields Brand Development and Messaging Marketing/Publishing Social Media/Blogging Technical Writing Copywriting Public Relations In addition, these are some interpersonal skills we’re looking for: Critical Thinking Problem Solving Reading Comprehension Verbal/Written Communication Time commitment 3 hours / week. About the Team The Carbconcopies Foundation (CCF) The CCF is a volunteer-run and operated nonprofit organization which focuses on the ethical development of whole brain emulation (WBE) and related neurotechnology. Our Vision is an expedited future where whole brain emulation benefits humanity and individuals. Our Mission is to identify, facilitate, and conduct the research which will deliver whole brain emulation. About the Position The Ethic Leadership Intern/Ethics Team Assistant will have a crucial role helping to build an Ethical Framework for WBE and ensuring the Foundation has a clear ethical understanding of the necessary work involved in creating that technology. The individual will perform independent research, collaborate with and help organize a team, and engage with experts. Specific Duties Review published ethics literature and CCF’s own knowledge base Write summaries of meetings and key papers Help maintain list of experts and prepare emails to experts Prepare agendas for meetings Send reminders to Leads for outstanding tasks Write content for Framework or as needed
