At the Carboncopies Foundation, our mission is to identify, facilitate, and directly conduct the research that will deliver whole-brain emulation. We believe that by advancing the field of neuroscience and technology, we can make significant progress in understanding the human brain and unlocking its potential. What You Will Do:

Architect, implement, and maintain network solutions that provide core infrastructure, including private cloud, and integrate with services and systems running in on-premises infrastructure
Communicate with team to identify needs, monitor performance, and diagnose and resolve issues with network and systems
Provide project management for various network activities, including upgrades, implementations, and migrations, offering technical direction and user support as needed
Create, update, and maintain documentation of environment and operational procedures
Create reports and documentation outlining findings and solutions

What You Will Bring:

Linux/Unix experience
Extensive experience with network infrastructure and hardware
Proficiency with infrastructure devices, including switches, routers, wireless access points, controllers, and firewalls
Experience with the OPNSense Open Source Firewall/Router system
Experience in designing, monitoring, and maintaining local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN)
Experience in setting up Proxies and Reverse Proxies (like Traefik and NGINIX)
Self-starter and able to work in an autonomous environment
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Passion for our mission of whole-brain emulation

Mission Statement

The Carboncopies Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides support to scientists working on challenges critical to whole brain emulation (WBE). We believe that the possibilities and opportunities afforded by WBE represent the most promising technological path to overcoming our fundamental limitations as a species and as individuals.

Description

To promote and accelerate the whole brain emulation, our foundation is focused on:

  • Encouraging scientific collaboration to create stepping-stone technologies

  • Publishing reviews of scientific literature and technology developments

  • Maintaining R&D roadmaps to identify and address scientific and engineering challenges

  • Increasing general awareness of the human adaptability gap and the possibility that neural prosthesis, whole brain emulation and substrate-independent mind may offer solutions

  • Hosting conferences or workshops, and providing informational material
