Valiant Hospice is looking for compassionate people to provide friendly visits to patients in group homes, nursing facilities, or in their homes. Volunteers offer friendship to our patients by visiting and talking, watching TV with them, reading to them, playing games, and more. Dates and times are flexible to your schedule. Some volunteers offer respite and a much needed break to caregivers by sitting with their loved one so they can run errands, visit friends, or take a nap. These care visits are set up with the family. Hospice volunteering can be very rewarding. We are looking for volunteers to visit with Hospice patients to provide caring support for the patient. As a volunteer, you may play games (cards, chess, bingo), you may read to the patient, or provide listening and companionship for an hour or two a week. If volunteer is gifted musically, s/he can play music and sing. Make a difference today! We are flexible with your time! Volunteers with certified pets are needed to visit with Hospice patients to provide caring support to the patient. So often our patients cannot be with their pets because they can no longer take care of them. But a dog or cat can brighten their day. We would love to have you be a part of our volunteer team. We have an active office with very nice people based in Tempe. We need someone who will help us with making copies, binders, and other tasks like filing or helping put together special gifts for our patients. If you looking for a place to make a difference, consider joining our volunteer team. Time commitment - One to two hours every week or every other week during office hours (8-5: M-F). We are looking for kind-hearted volunteers to visit our hospice patients. So many of our patients are lonely and bedbound. You can be a friend to them. Times are flexible and fit into your schedule. Even if you just live in Arizona part of the time, or if you go out of town a lot, we can still use you. If you have a certified pet, we would LOVE for you to visit our patients.
