Advanced Healthcare is looking for compassionate people to provide friendly visits to patients in group homes, nursing facilities, or in their homes. Volunteers offer friendship to our patients by visiting and talking, watching TV with them, reading to them, playing games, and more. Dates and times are flexible to your schedule. Some volunteers offer respite and a much-needed break to caregivers by sitting with their loved one so they can run errands, visit friends, or take a nap. We are looking for veteran volunteers to visit with Hospice patients to provide caring support for the patient. We have found that veterans can relate to other veterans on a level others cannot do. Location: We try to match you to someone who lives close to you. But, you will train in person at our Mesa location. As a volunteer, you may play games (cards, chess, bingo), you may read to the patient, or provide listening and companionship for an hour or two a week. Advanced Healthcare is looking for caring people to volunteer with visiting hospice patients. Volunteers are asked to visit at least twice a month, but can do more. They can read to a patient, play games, do puzzles, watch TV, or just have a conversation. They are often the highlight of our patient's week. We also need volunteers to sit with patients while their caregiver goes to doctor appointments and run errands. Location: We try to match you with a patient close to you. But, we do in person training at our main office in Mesa. Volunteers with pets are needed to visit with Hospice patients to provide caring support to the patient. So often our patients cannot be with their pets because they can no longer take care of them. But a dog or cat can brighten their day. We would love to have you be a part of our volunteer team. We are flexible with your time!
