BLOOD DONOR AMBASSADORS -- Only requires your welcoming smile! Manage the registration sign-in desk at community blood drives, welcoming potential blood donors, thanking them, and making for a more positive experience for everybody involved! Once trained, you only sign up for drives in your neighborhood and on your schedule, with most Ambassadors helping one-or-two shifts per month, each shifts about 4-5 hours Monday-Friday during normal business hours. Morning shifts, afternoon shifts, and shifts that bridge in between available. Whenever and wherever works best for you! Disaster Cycle Services Disaster Action Team (DAT) Specialist Learn more at www.redcross.org/volunteer or by emailing Ned.Bloom@redcross.org. Be there where and when your community needs you most! Provide immediate on-scene response to local disasters. Work with a team offering access to food, clothing, and shelter. Responsibilities: Respond with your team to local disasters, mostly house fires, offering care and comfort. Meet on-scene with individuals and families impacted by disasters. Maintain communication with team and related personnel ensuring continuity and safety. Attend regularly scheduled meetings and stay current on all training. Additional related duties as discussed with supervisor. Commitment: In-person county specific position available in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and/or Philadelphia Counties. Customizable on-call 4-6 hour shifts which you schedule totaling 24 hours per month. If nothing happens during your window of availability, go about your normal day. But if there is an event, the expectation is you can put aside what you are doing to respond with your team. Qualifications: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to arrive on-scene at assigned disasters within two hours of initial call to meet your team. Minimum age 18. Access to smart phone and/or computer with ability to send/receive text messages. Willingness to use/learn new technology required for event documentation. Comfortable working as part of a team and taking direction from leadership. Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English. ####

I’ve been a Red Cross Donor Ambassador for two years. It’s a very rewarding experience to greet and serve donors as the give a life saving gift. The Red Cross staff is professional & caring. I’d highly recommend people volunteer for any position with the Red Cross!
