The American Red Cross is over 90 percent volunteer-run. We are looking for volunteer recruiters to help us build our local volunteer teams. Do you enjoy presenting to small groups, speaking with people at events, working on social media posts and communicating with potential volunteers? Join us as we find the individuals who carry out the mission of the Red Cross! Key Responsibilities: Assist in the development and implementation of volunteer workforce recruitment activities. Recruit volunteers for all lines of service and departments. Meets with Volunteer Management team to determine targeted recruitment needs in the region. DISPATCHER FOR DISASTER RESPONSE Opportunity available within the state of Pennsylvania The American Red Cross responds to local home fires and disasters throughout PA. Our dispatchers work from home to dispatch our team who helps provide resources and support to clients during their time of hardship. Disaster Duty Officers play a very important role when the American Red Cross provides assistance to those affected by disasters. They are the first and single point of contact from emergency service organizations when the request for assistance is made. DAT Duty Officers are the lynchpin that holds a Red Cross disaster response together. DAT Duty Officers receive notification from clients and agencies requesting assistance during a fire, flood, or other disasters. They assess the situation and deploy the most appropriate resources to support efforts such as initial casework and recovery planning, canteen services, sheltering, and disaster assessment. The DAT Duty Officer ensures the response team has the tools, knowledge, and resources they need in order to deliver quality services, all while monitoring the situation and providing support from the comfort of their own home.
