Our Client-choice food pantry has seen an increase in Spanish-speaking clients and we need your help in order to serve them with dignity and respect. Our food pantry is has multiple roles that you can choose from. Check-in: Volunteers are the first friendly face our clients see before they make the, often times difficult, step to ask for help. You will help hand out necessary forms and answer any questions about the process. Intake: Volunteers will utilize our database to verify client information and get their appointment set for the next day. Shopper: Volunteers will work alongside clients to pick out food from the shelves that best suit their needs. Our shifts are on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 8:45 am to 11 am or 11 am to 1:15 pm. This is a flexible opportunity, which means you can sign up for a shift as often or as little as you like! Here's how you can sign up to be a volunteer: 1. Create an account with us at jfsdallas.volunteerhub.com 2. Once your account is created, you will be automatically redirected to a background check. Please note: if you do not feel comfortable submitting you SSN, you may click the "No SSN" option. 3. Attend a one-hour virtual orientation. Reach out to msquillace@jfsdallas.org if you have any questions.
