Quilts for Veterans in Tinley Park Area!

Flexible Schedule | Virtual Opportunity

QUILTS FOR VETERANS. Support and celebrate our Veterans. Quilted red, white and blue lap blankets to present to veterans who are on hospice care during a small ceremony acknowledging their service. Quilts should be approximately 4X4 and can be dropped odd at the Providence Hospice office in Tinley Park or pick up arrangements may be possible. Your donations of one quilt or more are appreciated at any time.

Friendly Spanish speaking volunteers needed to visit hospice patients to offer comfort and support to them and their families. This is a special role to offer special support to someone with a six month or less to live prognosis. Providence Hospice volunteers are an integral part of the care team. Volunteers give the gift of time to patients and/or families. We offer training to understand patients unique circumstances. No hospice experience necessary. We offer orientation and training. TB testing and background checks are required at Providence Hospice expense.

Massage Therapist for Providence Hospice! -Indiana

We are seeking a Massage Therapy Volunteer. You will be assigned to support a hospice patient and their family in your community. The time commitment for this position is 2-4 hours a month. You will arrange a time with the patient’s caregiver that works best for you and the patient. Hospice volunteer training is required as well as TB testing. Also a massage therapist certification/license in the state of IN is required.

Music Therapist Needed For Providence Hospice - Indiana!

Music Therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. We are seeking a volunteer with experience in Music Therapy as an established health profession in which music is used within a therapeutic relationship to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. After assessing the strengths and needs of each client, the qualified music therapist volunteer will provide the indicated treatment including creating, singing, moving to, and/or listening to music. Through musical involvement in the therapeutic context, clients' abilities are strengthened and transferred to other areas of their lives. Music therapy provides avenues for communication that can be helpful to those who find it difficult to express themselves in words. Music therapy supports effectiveness in many areas such as overall physical rehabilitation and facilitating movement, increasing people's motivation to become engaged in their treatment, providing emotional support for clients and their families, and providing an outlet for expression of feelings.

Providence Hospice is the kind of organization that all other hospice agencies hope to be. The support we receive from staff is amazing, and the company honestly cares for and appreciates the volunteers. There is never any pressure to take on a visit, and I know that Providence will always fill me in on anything I need to know about the clients I visit. It is truly a God-inspired company.
