Are you a special someone who can provide a compassionate presence at the bedside of someone who's dying? This is an opportunity to provide a most amazing service to our patients at the very end of life who might have no one to sit with them; to our families who would like company and support at the bedside of their loved ones at the final moments; and to facility staff who are simply too busy to sit with the dying patients but want to assure that their patients have someone by their side. We are looking for volunteers to join our 11th Hour / Vigil Volunteer team. 11th Hour volunteers are available to sit bedside with our patients who are actively dying in shifts of 1-4 hours. The 11th Hour volunteers provide support, in shifts, over a period of 24 hours or up to several days. So being an 11th hour volunteer does not require a regular schedule of visits for patients; instead, 11th hour volunteers provide intermittent visits over short, but intense periods of time often in the evening or late night. It's a unique and special type of person who wants to do this kind of compassionate work. We'll train you to feel comfortable and confident while you are volunteering with our patients. For more information, please call Nancy at 719-960-7722. Next orientation is Saturday, 4/20/24. Please call soon!
