Do you have that SPECIAL dog? The one that EVERYONE loves? The one that has an intuitive sense about what people need?
Dogs connect with our patients in ways that we can't! We need human volunteers along with their faithful canines to make visits to our patients at memory care units, skilled nursing and long-term care facilities and sometimes even private homes. The required human training is provided through Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care; the required pet therapy training is provided through Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Therapy Dogs, Inc. or another certifying organization. Or better yet, maybe your dog is already certified!
