About the Position: As a Volunteer IT/Security Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the digital infrastructure of Awaken Pittsburgh remains secure and operational. You will collaborate with our team to implement and maintain IT systems, safeguard sensitive information, and mitigate cybersecurity risks. Position Overview: As the Volunteer Coordinator at Awaken Pittsburgh, you will be responsible for recruiting, coordinating, and supporting our team of dedicated volunteers. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about making a difference and contributing to a meaningful cause. Responsibilities: Support recruitment of volunteers, including outreach campaigns, online platforms, and community partnerships. Maintain accurate and up-to-date volunteer records, including contact information, availability, and skills. Collaborate with program coordinator, marketing manager and executive director to assess volunteer needs and develop volunteer roles that align with organizational goals. Evaluate volunteer programs and initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective strategies for growth. About You: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate volunteers effectively. Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities. Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records and data. Proficiency in using technology and software for volunteer management, scheduling, and communication. Commitment to the mission and values of Awaken Pittsburgh. Has 3-6 hours per week to commit to the position. Preferred: Previous experience in volunteer coordination, preferably within a nonprofit organization. Awaken Pittsburgh uses evidence-based curricula and programming to serve individuals, organizations, and communities to seek clarity, focus, renewal, and improved productivity. Awaken Pittsburgh is seeking a experienced development professionals that specializes in individual giving to join its development committee. This person would develop, implement, and maintain our individual giving program, including attracting everything from small or mid-level donors to a major gift program. This will include all aspects of the major gift plan, including research and identification of prospects; cultivation and relationship management of the portfolio; proposal development and solicitation; and ongoing stewardship of donors. They will work as part of our development team, with an existing data management system. Key Responsibilities In accordance with Awaken Pittsburgh’s Bylaws, the Board Members shall: Be familiar with the organization’s programs, policies, and operations Attend quarterly board meetings and monthly committee meetings (approximately 2 hours each) Attend and actively participate in the annual meeting (approx. 3 hours in December) Actively serve on at least one committee and take on special assignments Review agenda and supporting documents prior to meetings Participate in fund raising activities and/or special events Meet with potential donors/funders to make a case for funding the organization, answer questions, etc. (approx. 4 hours annually) Keep current with your own personal mindfulness or contemplative practice and related issues and developments in program areas Strictly adhere to conflict of interest policies Strictly adhere to confidentiality policies About You: Two or more years managing individual giving. The ability to increase the retention and generosity of existing donors while meeting new donor acquisition goals. Demonstrated passion for the Awaken Pittsburgh's mission and a commitment to advancing its cause. Experience serving on nonprofit boards or holding leadership positions within nonprofit organizations. Proven success in fundraising, donor cultivation, and resource mobilization. Knowledge of nonprofit governance best practices and legal compliance. Responsible for proposing ideas and initiating donor stewardship initiatives at Awaken Pittsburgh. Excellent communication and public speaking abilities. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on long-term vision and impact. Awaken Pittsburgh is a young 501(c)(3) working to bring mindfulness-based social and emotional regulation skills to a variety of audiences. We are expanding our programming and growing into new areas. We therefore need a Copywriting Specialist who will help inspire internal and external audiences to take action to further our mission and promote personal and societal transformation. Our ideal candidate will be an experienced copywriter who works alongside the executive director, Marketing Coordinator and social media team of volunteers to help execute the organization’s marketing and communications strategy and accomplishes the daily work needed to support brand efforts and increase recognition of Awaken Pittsburgh impact as a regional leader in mindfulness & meditation. RESPONSIBILITIES: Helps to develop and execute the marketing & communications strategy. Creates, edits and distributes brand-aligned, clear, concise and impactful public communications. Writes, edits, and proofreads text for internal and external communications and publications. Assists with communication execution. Drafts communications that drive fundraising results, and helps to disseminate. Monitors and develops weekly/monthly reporting on communications impact. KEY COMPETENCIES: Positive, solutions-oriented with a strong ability to build and develop relationships with internal stakeholders, partners, and teammates. Nimble, can-do attitude. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum Requirements: Undergraduate degree in marketing, journalism, communications or related field and 3-5 years of experience. A strong understanding of what makes a powerful narrative and how to communicate that narrative across multiple platforms. Clear and effective communication, writing and presentation skills. Experience working with the press/writing press releases. Training and experience in how to tell a story using words, images, or audio and an understanding of how to create content that draws an audience. Ability to demonstrate the personal and emotional impact of our work, as well as the data surrounding the measurable outcomes. Experience managing project details with multiple timelines and deliverables. Proficient in Microsoft Office & Google Drive. Proficiency in Excel, including knowledge and understanding of intermediate Excel skills necessary to organize data. Strong ability to build and develop relationships with internal & external stakeholders, supporters and teammates. Its evidence-based curricula and programming serve students, educators, those in high stress, social services and mental health professionals, corporations, and any other individual or organization seeking to gain clarity, focus, renewal, and improved productivity. Duties & Responsibilities This position requires candidates to be able to perform duties that can include but are not limited to the following: Plan and coordinate the details of fundraising and awareness events for our organization; Work with the Executive Director (ED) and Board of Directors, marketing and fundraising committees to gain an understanding of the events’ purpose, goals and details for implementation; Scout and inspect event venues; Work with ED to get vendor bids and determine best fits for the budget and goals of the event; Recruit other volunteers/Board Members to table at and/or participate in events; Coordinate event logistics and services, including technology and equipment needed to run the event, food, drinks, transportation, etc. Help to ensure event stays within budget guidelines. Skills Needed Communication skills: Excellent listening, speaking, and writing skills will facilitate your ability to communicate with vendors, event attendees, and staff as well as promote the event.
