Volunteers are the HEART of Heartland Hospice! We are looking for caring individuals who live in Janesville, or a surrounding community, to join our growing team of volunteers! Friendly Visit Volunteers enrich the lives of hospice patients in their area through regular visits, which may involve playing games, enjoying a leisurely stroll around the nursing home/assisted-living facility, or just engaging in lively conversation. Service hours are flexible and scheduled according to your availability and location. You have the power to bring the greatest gifts to our patients’ lives... a smile and reassurance that comes with knowing they are genuinely cared for! Heartland Hospice provides care to patients wherever they call home: in the house they've lived in for years, a skilled nursing center, an assisted living facility or independent living facility.
Every patient is different, with different challenges, different needs, different family and friends. So the care we give each patient is different.
Heartland volunteers offer support, companionship and practical, compassionate help. Some interact directly with patients and families. Others prefer to work behind the scenes in the office setting.
