Our ideal volunteer will be customer service driven, friendly, self motivated, energetic, dependable, reliable and able to work independently.
Service duties include:
1. Round on waiting room and ensure it is clean and ready for our members.
2. Greet members as they enter the department, assist with directions and wayfinding.
3. Escort family members to the patient care area.
4. Answer phones and make calls.
5. Call members with pending appointments to confirm appointments an make changes as required.
6. Accept deliveries.
7. Photocopy & filing.
8. Provide wheelchair assistance as required.
9. Work on other projects as assigned.
Hours of Service: Monday - Friday Shifts: 8:00 - Noon, Noon - 4:00

The Volunteer Services Department at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center was established to develop and maintain a caring, compassionate and efficient volunteer staff who offer an extra dimension of care and services to our members and their families without replacing any paid positions throughout the Medical Center campus.
Description
The Los Angeles Medical Center (LAMC) Volunteer Services Department consists of over 800 volunteers, donating thousands of hours in 40 different areas of the hospital, mostly in patient care areas. Kaiser LAMC is the Tertiary Center for all of the So. Cal Kaisers, our specialties include the Heart Center, Stroke Center, Neuro Center and many more. We also are one of three Pediatric Specialty Care Centers for Kaiser Permanente So Cal.
Our volunteers experience a high level opportunity to interact with our members whether it be at the front desk greeting and checking in our members or as a Silver Angel in the nursing units.
Requirement for volunteering at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center
- Covid vaccine with proof of booster
- Must live in the Los Angeles Area
- Have a valid social security number.
- Kaiser runs a background check on all volunteers.
- If accepted to the program, must attend:
- Virtual Orientation
- Complete our health screening process.
- process may take up to 3 to 4 weeks for clearance after interviews.
- Commit to a fixed weekly 4-hour schedule.
- Commit to the programs one-year commitment.
