Lorain County Nursing Homes andAssisted Living FacilitiesLorain, OH 44053

Did you know that 50% of people living in long term care facilities have no family and 60% have no visitors? Long Term Care Ombudsman’s (LTCO) vision is to be the voice for the rights of individuals needing and utilizing long term care services. As we advocate for resident rights, we look to educate and empower individuals to make decisions based on their preferences and past practices.

Advocate for residents' rights and quality care in nursing homes. Empower residents and their families to exercise their rights. Gather information on conditions and daily life at the facility. Present Person-Centered Care options for residents to encourage them to maintain those activities and patterns adopted while at home transitioned to facilities.

Volunteers receive 12 hours of classroom training, provider orientation and complaint handling and are then state certified.

Gain skills in problem solving, mediating and negotiating along with making a difference in the lives of residents of all ages.
