Rider & Volunteers
A Hippotherapy student receives support from volunteers and Marcus pony.


Share approximately 2 or more hours per week helping in either equine assisted activities (horseback riding lessons) or occupational/physical therapy (Hippotherapy) for people with physical, intellectual and/or emotional challenges. Classes may be held Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays during the day, Monday through Thursday evenings, as well as Saturday mornings and afternoons. Volunteer help is needed to groom & tack horses prior to lessons, lead horses or walk alongside riders who may require physical or verbal support during lessons, and untacking and grooming horses following lessons. Volunteer training is provided but not mandatory. No prior experience with special people or horses is needed. Please see website for further information about volunteering with us;

Requirements & Commitment

  • Must be at least 14
  • 2 or more hours per week over a 10-12 week session
  • Own transportation preferred. Walking required & some jogging.
