We Love Our Libraries!

Are you looking for an opportunity to give back? Do you love the library? Do you have retail, library, book selling, or customer service experience? Or would you like to learn? If so, the Friends of the Multnomah County Library may be the volunteer team for you!

The Friends of the Library's mission is to support the Multnomah County Library system through advocacy, fundraising, and volunteerism. We are looking for committed volunteers who love their library as much as we do!

Position Details

As a volunteer store clerk your primary duties are customer service, gift, and used book sales. All volunteers help to maintain the store through light housekeeping, merchandising, and assisting with special projects as needed. We also ask that you promote memberships and special events organized by the Friends of the Library. We will provide any training and support that you need to be successful!

Available Volunteer Opportunities

We are recruiting for 3hr weekday and weekend shifts. As well we have on-call substitutes to help fill in when regular shift-holders are unable to show. We ask for a six-month commitment and, because our volunteers are a vital part of our organization, a commitment to give two weeks notice prior to exiting.
