Women of Colors (WOC) welcome you to share your ideas, identify, and enhance your gifts, talents and skills. Partipate in WOC's community happenings and provide members and volunteers an opportunity to form valuable friendships.

Our mission is to promote diversity, equity, and inclusiveness for the empowerment of families by providing services to strengthen communities and enhance collaborative relations in the Great Lakes Bay Region and beyond.

Description

Mentor youth in elementary, middle, and high schools that include Bridgeport High School, Success Academy, Thompson Middle School, Mackinaw High School, and the Juvenile Detention Center.

Student and Future Technology (SaFT) is a science education program to bring advance Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to disadvantage students. We want to create a learning enviornment that increases the use of digital tools to enhance student learning. Students will learn to take charge of thier own education. The SaFT program focuses on "Blended Learning"," which is the marriage of digital content, tools, and online resources with traditional teaching methods to support student learning.

The SaFT program also encourages "Self-Directed Personalized Learning," which focuses on improving self-confidence, achievement motivation, goal setting, information processing, decision making, problem solving, self-evaluation, critical thinking, creativity, tailored individual instructions and other cognitive skills.

Host the annual "Warm A Child For Winter event that provides over 700 coats to disadvantaged children per year.
