CAAWS is run solely by unpaid volunteers and is governed by a Board of Directors. We need cat or dog adoption counselor volunteers, who are over the age of 18 to work at least one Saturday per month. Y ou would be responsible for counseling individuals who want to adopt a pet and assuring appropriate paperwork is filled out (advanced training provided). Our Shelter is located in Baton Rouge.

The Capital Area Animal Welfare Society (CAAWS) is a non-profit organization committed to the well-being of animals in the Baton Rouge community by providing, facilitating, and promoting spay/neuter, adopting or facilitating the adoption of homeless animals, teaching the community responsible companion animal ownership and the humane treatment of animals, and at all times promoting the practice of spay/neuter.

Description

With the help of volunteers, CAAWS offers a number of services and programs that strive to promote animal welfare within the Baton Rouge community. Humane Education and companion ownership, Pet Touch Therapy, Feral Cat Program, Community Assistance Spay and Neuter Program, and Adoptions are all outstanding programs and services provided by the organization.
