Fund Development Coordinator
VIRTUAL POSITION: VOLUNTEER NEEDS TO BE LOCAL TO LINCOLN PARK, MICHIGAN

Assist us by raising money for our farmers market! Lincoln Park Farmers Market is a weekly Sunday farmers market from June through October with a fun holiday market in late November. We have farmers/growers, specialty food vendors and crafters at our weekly farmers market. We need someone who can help us raise money for our farmers market by talking to local businesses, corporations and potential donors. We are also using DonorPerfect for our fundraising online system. You will probably be adding donor info to DonorPerfect.

Job Responsibilities:

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to assist us in fundraising initiatives by gathering sponsors, donors, raising money for the Lincoln Park Farmers Market. This is an unpaid volunteer position.

Job Duties:

  • Cold calling to various companies soliciting donations, sponsors for the Lincoln Park Farmers Market.
  • Inputting data in DonorPerfect.
  • Sending letters etc. to donors, mostly via DonorPerfect.
  • Research companies and establish relationships with those who are willing to donate or exclusively partner with Lincoln Park Farmers Market
  • Promote and discuss Lincoln Park Farmers Market mission, sponsor benefits and opportunities with prospective donors

Fund Development Coordinator Skills and Qualifications:

Must have own computer, Internet, mobile phone and transportation, if applicable.

Great Communicator, sales skills, Ability to work from home, Self-Motivator ,Great personality/ Enjoy interacting with people, great judgment, ability to network and build relationships with various companies & individuals, Flexibility, Deadline-Oriented, Handles constructive criticism and direction well.

LINCOLN PARK FARMERS MARKET is a seasonal market focusing on locally grown fruits and vegetables, locally made specialty foods as well as and locally made arts and crafts. Our mission is, "To educate the community about healthy, locally grown food, and promoting good health." Our objective is Michigan grown/Michigan made by the farmer, vendor, and crafter. With the emphasis on organic foods, the advantage of a local farmer market is that one can talk to the farmer who raised the foods that they are to take home and eat.

LINCOLN PARK FARMERS MARKET, coordinated by FRIENDS OF LINCOLN PARK FARMERS MARKET, is a volunteer based weekly Sunday farmers market with farmers with produce and plants as well as specialty food vendors and crafters. The market hours are 11 am - 3 pm, June - October, with a special late November holiday market. The location is the parking lot at vacant lot of "Mellus Park", 1661 Fort Street, between Arlington & O'Connor, Lincoln Park, Michigan.
