The Vision Services volunteer will serve as a customer liaison between our Members and the Vision Services staff. The Vision Services volunteer will interact with members to ensure that they’re receiving the best care experience possible and will support our Vision Services staff in their efforts to help members who may be experiencing negative care.
1. Provide wayfinding and escorts for members coming into the office for a visit
2. Serve as greeter for department.
3. Provide assistance with frame display cases
4. Assist with clerical duties such as phones, filing, data entry and other projects.
5. Provide support on other projects as assigned.
Hours: Monday - Friday Shifts: 8:00 - Noon and Noon - 4:00 p.m.

The Volunteer Services Department at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center was established to develop and maintain a caring, compassionate and efficient volunteer staff who offer an extra dimension of care and services to our members and their families without replacing any paid positions throughout the Medical Center campus.
Description
The Los Angeles Medical Center (LAMC) Volunteer Services Department consists of over 800 volunteers, donating thousands of hours in 40 different areas of the hospital, mostly in patient care areas. Kaiser LAMC is the Tertiary Center for all of the So. Cal Kaisers, our specialties include the Heart Center, Stroke Center, Neuro Center and many more. We also are one of three Pediatric Specialty Care Centers for Kaiser Permanente So Cal.
Our volunteers experience a high level opportunity to interact with our members whether it be at the front desk greeting and checking in our members or as a Silver Angel in the nursing units.
Requirement for volunteering at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center
- Covid vaccine with proof of booster
- Must live in the Los Angeles Area
- Have a valid social security number.
- Kaiser runs a background check on all volunteers.
- If accepted to the program, must attend:
- Virtual Orientation
- Complete our health screening process.
- process may take up to 3 to 4 weeks for clearance after interviews.
- Commit to a fixed weekly 4-hour schedule.
- Commit to the programs one-year commitment.
