Hospice Vigil Team
"Death is not the ultimate tragedy of life. The ultimate tragedy is depersonalization-dying in an alien and sterile area...separated from the spiritual nourishment that comes from being able to reach out to a loving hand...separated from the desire to experience the things that made life worth living...separated from hope." Norman Cousins
Heartland Hospice's goal is that no patient should die alone. We need volunteers to help us transition our patients from life to death by creating a peaceful setting through prayer, music, poetry, candles, and most importantly presence.

About Heartland Hospice
750 Holiday Dr, Foster Plaza 9, Suite 110, Pittsburgh, PA 15220, US
Heartland Home Health Care & Hospice is a growing company dedicated to providing compassionate high quality home health care. We will achieve this by recruiting professional, caring staff, encouraging patients to become active participants in care, and by creating an atmosphere of supportive leadership. We value strong, mutually beneficial relationships with referral sources, employees, patients and caregiver and community at large.
Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide sensitivity and support for people in the final phase of terminal illness. Hospice care seeks to enable patients to carry on an alert, pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so that the last days may be spent with dignity and quality at home or in a home-like setting. It is the goal of Heartland Hospice to provide palliative and supportive services to meet physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs to the patients and caregivers in the home, health care facilities, or other residential settings. These services will be provided without regard to race, religion, gender, creed, sex or ability to pay.
