Learn how to prepare federal/state tax forms and help low income citizens file their taxes. No previous financial experience necessary. All skills will be taught in training program provided. Must be comfortable with computer & calculator and have good people skills.
Tax Counselors are needed after the first of the year to help low income citizens file tax returns. This position will run through April 15. Training begins first week in December/January. Volunteer must be committed to a week of training in Stroudsburg Library. Counselor locations will be in Stroudsburg, Middle Smithfield, Mt. Pocono and Tannersville locations.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) OF MONROE COUNTY, PA provides opportunities for Senior residents 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
