United South End Settlements has an important history of bringing technology education to the underserved populations of the South End and Lower Roxbury. We continue to offer many programs for the community and have integrated computer education into almost all of our programs. The Timothy Smith Computer Learning Center (TSCLC), provides access to state-of-the-art computer hardware, software, and high-speed Internet access. The equipment in each center is funded through the City of Boston's Timothy Smith Fund.

Technology Tutors will help assist students in the Microsoft Office Administrative Training Class, covering concepts ranging from PC basics to using the internet to desktop publishing.

Hours: Monday-Thursdays (2:30-4:00 pm); Fridays (12:30-2:30 pm).

Mission Statement

USES's mission is to harness the power of our diverse community to disrupt the cycle of poverty for children and their families. We believe that as families stabilize through access to increased resources, become more resilient, and build a diverse network of relationships, they and their children are more likely to develop the skills they need to succeed and break the cycle of poverty.

Description

We have created a bold new model designed to equip children and their families with economic mobility and social capital. Our programs align to our renewed mission that leads to profound, "whole family" impact. As families stabilize and take advantage of opportunities for advancement, they are connecting to an inclusive community that is investing social capital and uniting for the success of all.

Coaching: Coaching is a supportive partnership that empowers participants with the tools to find solutions and move their families forward.

Early Childhood Education: USES’ Early Childhood Education program prepares each child emotionally, academically, and physically to succeed in kindergarten.

club48: club48 provides high-quality services with curricula that support school success and promote the social, cognitive, and emotional development of the students.

Camp Hale: Established in 1900, Camp Hale operates on the belief that all youth, particularly those from urban environments, will benefit from challenging opportunities for physical, mental, and social growth and development.
