Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The mission of United South End Settlements (USES) is to build a strong community by improving the education, health, safety and economic security of low-income individuals and families in Boston's historic South End/Lower Roxbury and to serve as a national model of successful neighborhood engagement. Underscoring our mission is the principle that healthy communities are ones in which there are opportunities to engage all residents. It is only through such engagement that a community creates "social capital" - the relationships, trust, and networks that lay the foundation for problem solving and, ultimately, a common vitality that sustains all community members.
Our holistic, multi-generational programming supports family members at every stage of life, from infants to senior citizens. Our team prepares young children and families for kindergarten, provides academic and arts enrichment programming, inspires youth to broaden their horizons at an overnight summer camp in New Hampshire, equips adults with the skills and resources needed to achieve economic stability, and allow seniors to live enriched lives in the comfort of their own homes. Using this model, we are able to meet people where they are at and create a plan to move the whole family out of poverty and towards economic self-sufficiency.
