Help Older People Stay Safe at Home
If you have handy-person and light carpentry skills, you can help provide minor home safety or accessibility modifications to the homes of low-income older adults who risk losing their independence.
Our goal is to address home repair and maintenance issues that potentially present a safety risk or limit the access to (or within) the home.
Volunteer projects are small-scale and capable of being completed by a team of two to four volunteers in one day.
Volunteers should be capable communicators, and sensitive to the circumstances of clients. All volunteers must satisfactorily complete a background check.
We ask all volunteers make at least a three-month commitment to the program, and that they be available for a half to full workday during regular business hours on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. All volunteers are required to participate in an orientation and training.
Free supplemental insurance and other RSVP benefits are available to volunteers 55 and over. For more info, call 952-945-4162.

Mission Statement
RSVP offers maximum flexibility for people 55 and over who want to find challenging, rewarding, and significant service opportunities in their communities. RSVP Volunteers work with local organizations to have impact on critical needs in several focus areas: literacy, housing, food security, independence and well-being for seniors and persons with disabilities, economic opportunity, and service to veterans and military personnel and their families. We give volunteers the flexibility to decide who and how frequently they serve and we support volunteers with placement assistance, free supplemental insurance, and other benefits.
