ACES Volunteer Classroom Leaders will take an active role in improving the academic progress of urban students by working directly with youth in an after-school classroom setting.
Paid staff and volunteers work as teams to facilitate interactive, project-based curriculum that will help to level the playing field for ACES students. This is an opportunity to make a real impact on urban youth in the Twin Cities!

The mission of ACES is to help reduce the academic achievement gap in the Twin Cities and improve the likelihood of success for underserved students. Our vision is that ACES students succeed in college and career, and become engaged citizens in safe and equitable communities.
Description
- ACES is an after-school program for grades 4-8 that maintains partnerships with professional sports teams in the Twin Cities.
- ACES operates at different sites across the Twin Cities, including public schools and Boys and Girls Clubs
- ACES uses a unique curriculum that uses sports to spark math and social-emotional skill development
- Our approach works! Students who consistently attend ACES show academic growth, improved behavior and school attendance, and increased identity with their community.
