"MAKE A FRIEND, CHANGE TWO LIVES." It is as simple as being a friend. If you have four hours a month to spend with an individual in our community who is dealing with mental illness, please contact us today! We offer ongoing training and support, as well as free and low-cost activities for you and your Compeer Friend. Compeer Rochester uses community volunteers to provide guidance and support to individuals who are looking to improve their well-being as a supplement to mental health treatment. For over 40 years, we have helped people in our community who are isolated and lacking socialization, all through the power of 1:1 mentoring relationships.

Compeer Rochester's mission is to provide and support friendships that help adults, youth, and Veterans recover from mental illness.
Compeer Rochester has served Monroe County youth, adults, and families for over 40 years through the power of supportive friendships and mentoring. We are a dynamic organization that utilizes community volunteers to mentor individuals who are striving for mental health and overall well-being. Founded in Rochester and now an international company, our model is recognized as an evidence-based practice through SAMHSA. Our newest program, CompeerCORPS applies the mentoring model in Veteran-to-Veteran peer relationships. Join Compeer Rochester today. It takes as little as four hours per month to make an impact.
