Peds Pals: Visit with children in our hospital!

Do you have a knack for connecting with children, enjoy playing games or have a flair for arts and crafts? Are you compassionate and patient? Peds Pals volunteers spend time with families on the pediatric unit, engaging children in fun activities while they are hospitalized.

Make a difference any day of the week.

What Kelly liked most about Tuesday was that she blew bubbles and put a puzzle together. What her parents liked was that they could see their four-year-old playing and giggling again. As a Peds Pals volunteer, you will bring more than board games and coloring books to the inpatient pediatric floor. You will bring the chance to create cheerful moments for families who often face long days of worrying and the challenge of entertaining a hospitalized child and their siblings. Whether playing at a young patient’s bedside or spending time in the pediatric playroom, Peds Pals volunteers can offer a bright source of comfort and a welcome break for parents.

Our Inpatient Pediatric Unit admits patients from birth to age 21 allowing you to interact with a variety of ages.

We would love to hear from you if you are: Energetic, compassionate, patient, comfortable around children of different ages, a positive thinker, able to be respectful of families during a difficult time

Minimum Commitment: One shift per week for at least six months.

Times:Seven days a week: 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., 12:00 - 2:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
