Trail Patrol - Enjoy and Protect
Get out on the trail and serve as a resource to hikers and Open Space Authority (OSA) staff. Members of the Trail Patrol program distribute information, brochures, and maps to trail users, educate visitors about proper trail use and safety, and provide staff with information on trail conditions and visitor use patterns. Patrol can be done on foot, bicycle, or horseback following trail use regulations. Trail Patrol Members commit to patrolling OSA lands a minimum of once a month.

Description
The Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority was created by the State Legislature in response to efforts by citizens and the local governments of Santa Clara County. The purpose of the Authority is the preservation of open space and creation of greenbelts in order to counter the continuing conversion of lands to urban uses, to preserve the quality of life in the County, and to encourage outdoor recreation and continuing agricultural activities.
