Description:

St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii is one of the largest providers of care options for seniors and caregivers in the Islands. The Hospice Program is the largest department within the St. Francis Healthcare System, has an on going need for volunteers. The general training is done online in the comfort of your own home. All you need is internet access.
In addition to the online training, we host an orientation where we discuss the history, culture and legacy of St. Francis. We also review our policies, procedures and the protocol for visiting patients within their home or nursing facilities.
All volunteers are required to provide TB clearance and proof of COVID-19 vaccination, and we perform a background check. This is a great opportunity for students looking for healthcare experience and for seniors and retirees who want to give back to their community. We work with your schedule and have many different types of settings to visit patients.
We also have an opportunity for volunteers to conduct COVID-19 screening at our inpatient unit. Volunteers screen visitors, staff and vendors prior to their entry into our facility.

We welcome you to join us in providing the needed help in giving relief to our patients and families.

Description

Requirements: HOSPICE VOLUNTEERS - St. Francis Hospice is the first hospice program in Hawaii, and the largest service area within the St. Francis Healthcare System. We are looking for volunteers who feel the calling and privilege to visit patients on hospice. We have many settings available and will work with your schedule. Training is partially online from the comfort of your own home and a 1/2 day training orientation every couple of months. For students, this is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a healthcare system but still have flexibility for work and studies. For seniors and retirees, this you can donate as many hours as you feel called to give. Our seniors enjoy giving back to the community and being part of our St. Francis Ohana.
