Back to School Event Volunteers Needed!

It’s that time of the year again! Project One Focus is setting the wheels in motion for another Back to School Drive and Event, and we need you! This year we have a special treat, by including family fun for all involved, complete with food, music, entertainment and more!

Last year as a HUGE success! We supplied over 300 children with back packs, school supplies, uniforms and this year we expect our number to multiply.

Since 2003, Project One Focus has provided more than 1000 children in the Houston Community with much-needed supplies for the school year. This access is made possible through the cooperation of our donations from sponsors and volunteers like you.

There are two ways in which you can help:

1. Volunteer--We are seeking volunteers to help plan and execute our Back to School Event which will be held on a Saturday, August 2016 at TBD

Current volunteer opportunities include:

· Planning committee (logistics, vendors and planning in advance of the event)

· Fundraising and sponsorships (we need dedicated volunteers to solicit donations and sponsors, donations can be monetary or come in the form of packages of school supplies)

· School supply collections-These items have included mesh and clear backpacks, calculators, pencils, pens, paper, tablets, uniforms--anything a student , binders, might need in a classroom, but is unable to afford.

· Event staff (to work on the day of the event distributing supplies, assisting parents with registration and passing out program information)


2. Donate--This year, our goal is to raise $10,000 in dollars and school supplies, in order to clothe the children in the Houston Community as well as provide them with the necessary items needed to achieve a successful school year.

Being well prepared for the school year is the first step in learning. We hope to give our children and youth this advantage in life. If you are interested in helping us meet our fundraising goal, a simple
