AfterDark CATV PRO
Media content productions aimed at advancing economic development & cultural maintenance utilizing arts & culture as engines for growth & sustainability.

AfterDark CATV PRO is a non-profit media arts organizations seeking to envigorate its board of directors for the purpose of raising the organization, its work, and mission to the next level. Candidates should be fearless in exploring new models of infrastructure, organizing, production, and media service.

Interested people must have a working knowledge of media (commerical and alternative), video and television production, the not-for-profit sector in the arts & culture and small business arenas, as well as conventional and e marketing.

Candidates should also have experience with the the arts and cultural communities as well as community and business development and fund raising. People of color and bilingual people encouraged. We're not phobic, GLBT welcomed.AfterDark CATV PRO equally welcomes unique skill sets, talents, and ideas. Candidates must demonstrate the capacity to beneficial to the organization's development and it mission.

Frequency of Board meetings will be determined after three monthly meeting initially and cohesion among the board as a working group is established. We're looking to put together one to two major fund raisers per year. HERspanic Achievement Awards, El Festival del Libro, and an International & Independent Food & Film Festival as a PROduction summer outdoor event for 2017 & 2018.

Partial responsibilities will include working on standing and project-based committees. They will work with Executive Director in devising new direction for organization, develop and implement plans, and advise in all phases of production (pre-production, production, and post). Board will also help Executive Director make speaking and marketing appearances on behalf of AfterDark CATV PRO. They may be asked to represent the organization on occasions.

As a concession for your time and expertise, Board members walk away with an intimate knowledge of "inner-city" neigborhoods like El Barrio/East Harlem, insight on how communities view themselves and what they've identifies as solutions to chronic problems, as well as recognition as a board member in our marketing materials, web site, and on-screen media production projects.

AfterDark CATV Productions, Inc. is representative of a growing trend in community-based, not-for-profit organizations raising progressive social consciousness.

Its mission is to provide broad exposure and promotion of diverse local arts talent, entrepreneurs and community resources via pre-recorded shows and live events on television and the internet.

AfterDark develops programs in conjunction with local television networks and public service organizations worldwide. Programs are disseminated through public access networks and streaming video on the internet, as well as on television networks overseas.

Description

Our productions help to provide exposure in the media to local businesses and community resources through interviews, profiles, and coverage. It is a vital tool in encouraging both economic and community development.

AfterDark CATV PRO produces programs shown on the alternative media of P.E.G. (Public, Education, & Government) Access TV and the Internet. Regarding news, we focus on uncovering quotable sources of independent information and facts. We also provide exposure to independent and learned points of view and opinion.

Our productions feature cultural entertainment across all genres of art, from exhibitions, film & video festivals and screenings, to musical and theatrical performances. Galleries, theaters, local businesses, and outdoor festivals are among our locations used as backdrop to our shows.

We also assist in preparing youth for future employment through our media literacy workshops conducted in schools and community centers.
