What: The Preschool Read Aloud Program is looking start new volunteer readers! Volunteers will be reading books aloud in classrooms affiliated with Child Development Centers, state-funded preschools and head start locations. This program serves pre-kindergarten aged children, ranging from 3-5 years old.

Goal: Create an intrinsic connection to reading and print awareness.

Skill Sets: We are looking for volunteers who enjoy working with pre-school aged children and who have a knack for engaging students of that young age!

Time Commitment: As a Read Aloud Program Volunteer, you will be tasked to attend a one-time 1-hour training*, 1-hour kick-off meeting with the teacher and fellow volunteers, and attend a .5 hour session each month.

*Trainings are hosted at the Word Alive office in Pacific Beach. Read Aloud sessions are held onsite in the classroom.
