The Christmas Cheer program is how we help area families that may be experiencing need during the holidays. Families come to our administration office, Center of Hope and Lehigh Acres office to apply for assistance, then we compile donations. In early to mid December we open the Toyland warehouse to distribute the toys, gifts and food boxes to the families.
Volunteers will be needed to take the applications during October, for the Toyland warehouse, and the distribution time. Training to take applications will be in September and opportunities to assist with this are available throughout October. Toyland duties will include food sorting and packing, toy sorting and packing. and various other related duties.
Food sorting will begin in early November with the final food packing days on November 21. Toy sorting and packing will start in late November and continue through mid December. The distribution days are Weds, Thurs and Fri Dec 18, 19 and 20. Multiple volunteers are needed each day - groups are welcomed and encouraged.
