The Children's Museum of New Hampshire is a leader in distinctive experiential learning and a catalyst for lifelong discovery.

Description

Founded in 1983, the Children's Museum of NH, formerly of Portsmouth, is an arts and sciences museum for children ages 1 - 12. The museum transformed Dover's historic armory into a universally accessible, state-of-the-art facility that recieved Silver LEED certification by the US Green Building Council. Located in downtown Dover, the museum has 20 hands-on exhibits that explore world cultures, history, arts, sciences and math and provides dozens of educational programs, workshops, community events and an art gallery. The Museum has recieved recognition for outstanding service to children and families in challenging circumstances through its many outreach initiatives, including the Association of Children's Museums' Promising Practice Award, the Governor's Art Award for Cultural Access and Leadership and Citizen's Bank Champion in Action.
