Interfaith Housing has clients with serious structural damage to their houses. Homes are in need of repairs to make them livable. Currently there are over thirty homes of low income persons, primarily elderly, that need rehabilitation. Needs vary. Examples include: hang drywall, install paneling, tear off old roof, install new roof decking, install roll roofing, replace floor joists, install subfloor and floor covering, clean up debris and keep work area clean.

The mission of The Volunteer Center is to match individuals willing to serve with non-profit and governmental organizations in need of help for the benefit the community. Our goal is to be the first place people think of when they want to be of service and the first place non-profit and governmental groups think of when they need dependable volunteer help. As a result we extend the human capacity of area non-profit and governmental agencies by recruiting volunteers to fill a wide variety of volunteer positions in the community.
Description
The Volunteer Center recruits, refers and supports volunteers for the betterment of the community. The Center is home of the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), the Volunteer Action Corps (VAC), Friends in Action and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program in Reno County, Kansas.
